Voor onze fractie in de faculteitsraad van Sociale Wetenschappen zoeken we studenten die het leuk lijken om de belangen van alle studenten aan de Faculteit Sociale Wetenschappen te behartigen bij de totstandkoming van het beleid van het faculteitsbestuur. Je hebt tot en met 12 maart 23:59 de tijd om te solliciteren.

WAT IS VUUR?

De naam VUUR is een afkorting voor Verenigde Utrechtse Universitaire Raden. We zijn een medezeggenschapspartij die binnen de hele universiteit actief is. Met ook raadsleden in verschillende faculteiten zijn wij een belangrijke speler in het bepalen van de koers van universiteit. Belangrijke documenten, zoals de faculteitsbegroting, het facultaire strategisch plan en regels rondom toetsing, worden ter instemming voorgelegd aan de faculteitsraad (FR). Op deze manier kun jij als medezeggenschapper toezicht houden op het bestuur en beleid van de faculteit en waar mogelijk verbeteringen aan brengen. Ook is er ruimte om zelf initiatieven voor te leggen aan het faculteitsbestuur.

WIE ZOEKEN WIJ?

Op onze lijst voor de verkiezingen van 2022 zien wij graag inhoudelijk sterke studenten. Uiteraard zien wij graag studenten die betrokken (willen) zijn bij de organisatie van de Faculteit Sociale Wetenschappen. Daarnaast beschikt de ideale kandidaat over de volgende kwaliteiten: (pre, geen vereiste)

• Kritische denkvaardigheden;
• Resultaatgericht en realistisch werken;
• Goede communicatie skills;
• Assertief en proactief;
• Samenwerken in een team;
• Doorzettingsvermogen;
• Eventuele eerdere ervaring met medezeggenschap / bestuur.

WAT GA JE DOEN?

Als raadslid voor VUUR bestaan je werkzaamheden onder meer uit:

• Analyseren van documenten en daarbij beleidsadviezen formuleren;
• Bewaken van de goede orde binnen de faculteit in zijn geheel;
• Verdiepen in beleidsstukken over bepaalde thema’s;
• Onderhouden van contacten bij vele belanghebbende gesprekspartners en de achterban (medestudenten en VUUR);
• Aandragen van eigen initiatieven of standpunten en deze verdedigen;
• Deelnemen aan de activiteiten en trainingen van VUUR.

BIJZONDERHEDEN

• De tijdsinvestering bedraagt gemiddeld 12 uur per week;
• De formele startdatum is 1 september 2023;
• De vergoeding voor het raadswerk is ca. €3500,00 per jaar;
• De vergoeding is exclusief een budget voor scholing en training;
• Aanwezigheid tijdens de verkiezingen is verplicht;
• De inwerkperiode begint aan het einde van het collegejaar.

WAT BIEDEN WIJ?

We zullen er alles aan doen om de geselecteerde kandidaten optimaal voor te bereiden op de verkiezingen en het daaropvolgende raadsjaar. Trainingen en workshops, maar ook gezelligheid en balans! Als lid van VUUR leer je verder in een korte periode bovendien veel betrokken mensen vanuit allerlei studierichtingen kennen. Dat biedt uitstekende mogelijkheden om je ontwikkeling te stimuleren en het eigen netwerk te vergroten.

Je kunt tot en met 12 maart 23:59 solliciteren door dit formulier in te vullen, en daarbij je CV en een motivatiebrief (max. één A4) toe te voegen.  Verwerk daarbij in je sollicitatiebrief ten minste één inhoudelijk punt dat je graag in de faculteitsraad zou willen bespreken.

The fraction of VUUR in the Faculty Council of Social Sciences is looking for students! Does representing the interests of all students at the Faculty of Social Sciences and shaping the policies of the Faculty Board like something for you? You have until March 12, 11:59 p.m. to apply!

WHAT IS VUUR?

The name VUUR is an abbreviation for Verenigde Utrechtse Universitaire Raden. We are a student representative party active throughout the whole university. With council members in different faculties, we are an important player in determining the direction of university. Important documents, such as the faculty budget, the faculty strategic plan and rules around testing, are submitted to the Faculty Council (FR) for approval. In this way, you as an student representative can supervise the management and policy of the faculty and make improvements where possible. There is also room to present your own initiatives to the faculty board.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

On our list for the 2023 election, we would like to see substantively strong students who are (or want to be) involved in the organization of the Faculty of Social Sciences. In addition, the ideal candidate has the following qualities: (pre, not a requirement)

• Critical thinking skills;
• Results-oriented;
• Goodcommunication skills;
• Assertiveandproactive;
• Cooperation in a team;
• Perseverance;
• Any previous experience with student participation / or student boards.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

As a council member for VUUR, your duties will include:

• Analyzingdocumentsandformulating policy recommendations;
• Maintaininggood order withinthefaculty as a whole;
• Delving into policy documents on particular topics;
• Maintainingcontactswithmanyinterested partners (fellow studentsand VUUR);
• Proposingyourowninitiatives or positionsanddefendingthem;
• Participating in VUUR’s activities and trainings.

DETAILS

• The time commitment is on averages31 FTE (12 hours per week);
• The formal start date is September 1, 2023;
• Compensationforfaculty council work is approximately€3500.00 per year;
• Compensation does notinclude a budget foreducationand training;
• Attendanceduringelections is mandatory;
• The onboarding period begins at the end of the academic year.
